The contrast between the dark stems and the strong, cheerful flowers is just beautiful. She blooms abundantly and provides a feast for insects.
"Tricolore" stays quite small which makes her an excellent option for pots.
Tip: Pinch dahlias as soon as they are 20cm to 30cm (8" to 12") tall: simply shorten the shoot tip by a third. This way, they'll form more shoots, flower more and look bushier.
And, if you're hungry for more dahlia details, have a look at my "DAHLIA DELIGHT" eBook. Everything you ever wanted to know about caring for your dahlias and, of course, full to the brim with beautiful photos and inspiration.
