Autumn can 'cope' with strong colours. "Cornel Brons" has this extraordinary peach-copper shade as if she had caught the sun all summer. And as she flowers especially abundantly, she'll make your garden glow.
She's wonderful combined with soft pink and cream, like "Linda's Baby", "Wizard of Oz" or "Café au Lait".
But also strong berry shades like "Le Baron", "Rocco" or "Burlesca" look absolutely fantastic.
Great for the vase because she has long stems. Best to cut when the flowers are one-third open.
Tip: Pinch dahlias as soon as they are 20cm to 30cm (8" to 12") tall: simply shorten the shoot tip by a third. This way, they'll form more shoots, flower more and look bushier.
